Chiang Dao Orphanage

Chiang Dao Orphanage is located in the mountainous region of northern Thailand near the Myanmar border. The orphanage was established by Joni and Nangsar Morse in response to children fleeing conflict, displacement, and extreme poverty in the region.

Many of the children who come to Chiang Dao have lost one or both parents or come from families unable to provide consistent care, nutrition, education, or medical support. The home exists to provide safety, stability, and long-term care in a structured, supportive environment where children can grow, learn, and build a hopeful future.

Our children were previously located in Kae Noi. In recent months, the home relocated to the Chiang Dao region to better support the children’s needs and long-term stability.

Where Chiang Dao Is Located

Chiang Dao Orphanage is located in the mountainous countryside of northern Thailand in Chiang Mai Province, near the border with Myanmar. The region is rural, with valleys and forested hills where small villages are often separated by long distances and difficult terrain.

Families in this area frequently face challenges accessing schools, medical care, and stable employment. Seasonal farming, rugged terrain, and geographic isolation make it difficult for consistent services to reach children in need.

Because of its location, the Chiang Dao Orphanage provides a stable place where children from surrounding villages can reliably access education, daily care, and a safe living environment.
